Jukebox Lismore is a not-for-profit community-based association and was incorporated on January 15 2009 to organise rock 'n' roll and hotrod shows and similar events on the Northern Rivers.

The original concept evolved from input by a consortium of local community car, motorcycle, rock 'n' roll, radio and entertainment clubs.

The first offical AGM was held on December 21 2009, at which the current committee was elected and eligible initial membership applications were formalised.

The band of dedicated volunteers consists of a group highly experienced in planning, organising, marketing, financing and running community and family oriented events.

The first event organised was the inaugural Summerland Drags, held on March 27 2010, at Casino Airport. See www.summerlanddrags.com .

A promoter, David Lander of Lismore Speedway, was found and then approval was needed from Richmond Valley Council, ANDRA, NSW Department of Sport and Recreation, NSW Police etc.

It was a huge success. A maximum crowd of 1500 was budgetted for, but about 4000 turned up, including 120 competitors!

The rest is history, with the second event, held on May 23 2010, with 168 competitors and, despite the rain, about 3000 spectators turned up.

There was even a spectacular fireworks display!

The success of these initial events has highlighted the need for a 'rev head heaven' between Sydney and Brisbane, so four or five events a year are planned in the future, at Casino Airport and/or possibley Evans Head, thanks to our promoter, David Lander, and the much appreciated ongoing support of Richmond Valley Council and our valued competitors, spectators, sponsors and supporters.
